Distance sensor
It sounds complicated but it’s an ingenious solution when normal photoelectric sensors come to their limits at, for example, high detection ranges. The laser permanently measures the distance to a reflector or to a fixed object. When a person or vehicle covers this reference point the output signal is on. Plus, this complex system fits inside a normal photoelectric sensor’s housing.
