The ShieldScan-3M-SC is a solid-state scanner designed for pedestrian protection on automatic doors. The sensor has been specifically developed for protecting common automatic swing doors and uses reliable Time-of-Flight technology (ToF) to detect objects and people within the relevant door area.

The defined beam geometry allows the detection area to be precisely aligned with the door application. Non-relevant areas can be masked using the Virtual Wall function. This makes the safety sensor suitable for different installation conditions on automatic swing doors.

Reliable Door Protection with Time-of-Flight Technology

Time-of-Flight technology enables precise detection of the relevant protection area. The ShieldScan-3M-SC operates silently and is designed for reliable operation under different environmental conditions.

The sensor supports the requirements for pedestrian protection on automatic doors according to EN 16005 and DIN 18650. For safety-related applications, the system provides SIL 2, Performance Level d (PL d) and Category 2.

The safety function supports applications such as protection against crushing at the secondary closing edge of the door.

Designed for Automatic Swing Doors

The ShieldScan-3M-SC is designed for the protection of common automatic swing doors. The sensor system can be used on the hinge side and opposite hinge side to provide targeted monitoring of the door area.

Depending on the door width, the installation height can be up to 3,000 mm. For an installation height of 1,500 to 2,500 mm, a door width of 0.5 to 1.8 m is specified. For installation heights from 2,500 to 3,000 mm, the specified door width is 0.5 to 1.6 m.

Easy Installation and Reliable Integration

The compact design and defined mounting orientation allow for space-saving integration into the door system. The plug-and-play installation supports quick installation and helps reduce installation effort.

The SC version features a switchable NPN/PNP output, allowing flexible connection to different door control systems. The sensor is powered by 24 V DC ±20%.

With its IP65 protection rating, the sensor is also suitable for applications where protection against dust and water ingress is required. The permitted ambient temperature range is -30 °C to +60 °C.
