Safety Sensor for Automatic Swing Doors

The ShieldScan-3M-SSR is a solid-state scanner designed for person protection on automatic doors. Its integrated Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology enables reliable monitoring of the door area. The sensor is particularly designed for use on automatic swing doors.

With one sensor installed on each side of the door, the ShieldScan-3M-SSR creates a continuous detection field. The sensor monitors the main closing edge, door leaf and secondary closing edge. If the light beams are interrupted by a person or object, the corresponding switching outputs are triggered.

The SSR version features a solid-state relay output (SSR) and is therefore suitable for applications requiring an SSR output for connection to the door control system.

Closing-Edge Protection and Anti-Collision Protection

The ShieldScan-3M-SSR is designed for closing-edge protection on automatic door systems. In addition to the main closing edge, the safety sensor monitors the door leaf and the secondary closing edge.

This enables the sensor to support the protection of people and objects within the movement area of automatic doors. The ShieldScan-3M-SSR can also be used for anti-collision protection near moving swing or revolving doors.

The secondary closing edge is monitored using a curved beam field. This allows lateral reaching around the door leaf to be detected as well.

ToF Technology and Virtual Wall Function

The ShieldScan-3M-SSR uses Time-of-Flight technology and features 20 beams. The integrated Virtual Wall function enables dynamic, angle-dependent adaptation of the detection field.

As the door opens, the individual beams of the detection field are masked according to the opening angle. This allows changes behind the opened door to be taken into account during detection.

Easy Installation and Commissioning

The ShieldScan-3M-SSR is designed for plug-and-play corner mounting. The integrated One-Teach function supports quick and easy commissioning.

The compact housing allows the sensor to be discreetly integrated into the door system. With its IP65 protection rating, the sensor is suitable for applications where protection against dust and water is required according to the specified IP rating.

The sensor is designed for installation heights of up to 3000 mm. Depending on the installation height and door width, the applicable operating ranges specified in the technical data sheet must be observed.
